Evernote Raises $2 Million For International Expansion

Evernote, a startup which makes a multimedia note-taking app, has raised $2 million from DOCOMO Capital, funds it will use in part to launch additional local versions of its software. With Evernote, users can clip a range of files — including handwritten text, parts of web pages, and audio files — and store them. Files can later be searched — and easily shared. A basic, ad-supported version is free, while a $5 per month premium version comes with additional features, including support for more file types and additional uploads.

With the new funds, Evernote will have raised about $13 million. The startup had raised $5 million in a second round from Russia’s Troika Partners last December, along with a $6 million first round in August 2006. Release.
