Industry Moves: Former NBC Sales Exec Keith Turner Joins NFL

Keith Turner, NFL

Just in time for the season kickoff, the National Football League has hired former NBC Universal (NYSE: GE) ad sales exec Keith Turner. He’ll serve as Senior Vice President of Media Sales & Sponsorship, the NFL said in an e-mail release. The new post comes nearly three years after Turner exited NBCU as president of sales & marketing. This past June, Turner was named vice chairman of direct response media buyer Mercury Media. Before heading to NBCU in 1987, Turner held posts at *CBS* Television and Grey Advertising. In his new job, Turner will be responsible for ad sales across all NFL media platforms, including the NFL Network, NFL.com and NFL Mobile, as well as managing national sponsorship programs. The news of Turner’s hire was announced in conjunction with the NFL’s promotion of Mark Waller to CMO from SVP, a post he’s held with the league since 2006.
