British Library Launches e-Book Program — Showing Sony Readers Early

bl_logo_100We just heard from the folks at the British Library about a new e-book loan program, the Bloomsbury Library Online. The service offers digital books that can be checked out through the public library. To help the public get accustomed to the technologies involved in e-book reading, they will have the Sony Pocket Edition, Sony Touch Edition, and the COOL-ER e-book readers on display beginning Sept. 3. Visitors to the display can see the new Sony readers first-hand prior to their availability on Sept. 10. If you are in the UK, drop by the upper ground floor of the British Library and check out the readers. It is great to see the library systems getting into the e-book reader program.
