Steven Chu is a true scientist’s Secretary of Energy. The well-known scientist and administrator ran the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, won a Nobel Prize, has called for urgent action on climate change and (now famously) described coal as his “worst nightmare.” When it comes to the smart grid, Chu has been aggressive on pushing the industry to develop smart grid standards, and has been making sure the industry pays particular attention to security.
