Regator for iPhone Released — Blog Search on Steroids

Search engines are a dime a dozen, and few of them give Google a run for the money. As someone who religiously follows the blogosphere, a good tool that lets me search the top blogs for hot topics is extremely useful. Regator is one of those tools, and they have just released a version for the iPhone. Regator for iPhone leverages the interface to make it easy to keep up with the topics of the day.

Regator constantly trolls the blogosphere to keep up with current events, but it is so much more than just a news engine. It makes it easy to search blogs for information that is pertinent and more importantly, timely. I have been trying Regator on my iPhone today and just did a search for “BlackBerry”:

Regator iPhone

The results that Regator returned for the search included an article posted here just a few minutes ago as the top result. They are literally polling blogs for information constantly and, thus, searches are as up-to-date as possible. The app is free for the iPhone ,so you lose nothing by trying it out. I have been impressed with it so far.

As a blogger, I really love the fact that Regator for iPhone only shows enough of a blog post in the results to determine if the post will be helpful. They do not show the entire article; they direct you to the original item on the blog, as they should. I appreciate that.
