Well, Tiger Woods didn’t walk away with a win from the 2009 PGA Championship (that honor went to Y.E. Yang), but it was a record-setting weekend for PGA.com and Turner Sports, which served up 3.4 million video streams over the course of the 4-day event.
According to the press announcement:
PGA.com Had 1.4 million average daily unique visitors, up 94 percent over 2008
The Turner Sports online golf portfolio (including PGA.com, Yahoo and picture-in-picture streams) served up a total of 3.4 million video streams, including a record 2.4 million live player streams (up 204 percent over last year)
Friday, Aug. 14, the second day of the tournament, had 1.7 million unique users, and 1.3 million live player and on-demand video streams.
Too bad Tiger Woods didn’t fart on camera this time around — the numbers would have been even bigger.
