Tis the season for unsolicited buy-out offers. After Capital Ideas’ Observer fishing trip, now Bradford-based travel marketing firm‘s MD Adrian Walton says (via TTGLive): “We are actively pursuing taking over Teletext, it has now become an outdated service and we would be looking to bring it up to date and make it successful once again.”

Though DMGT last month said it would shut Teletext TV and some online services from January 2010, it pledged to hold on to under Associated Northcliffe Digital. So the take-over talk isn’t being met favourably by Teletext Holidays MD Mike Stewart (via TTGLive): “I am surprised that such an obviously false statement was issued and concerned that any professional management team would allow this to happen. Teletext recently reaffirmed its commitment to the travel industry in a major restructuring which is being carried out to enable further and faster investment in the brand and in the travel market.
