In the past, Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ) has offered a very successful, buy one BlackBerry, get another one free promotion, which on more than one occasion drove BlackBerry to be the best-selling smartphone during a particular quarter.
Today, the second-largest U.S. carrier is relaunching the sale with a twist, reports Boy Genius. This time around, you are no longer limited to a a second BlackBerry, but instead, the carrier is opening up the deal to netbooks, PC cards, USB modems or MiFis. Of course, lesser or equal value rules apply.
The promo applies to any BlackBerry, including Tour, Storm, Pearl Flip. Finding a BlackBerry that costs more or the same as another device might be the challenge. The Tour costs $200, but after that, prices plunge with the Storm costing $99, the Flip is $79 and the Curve is $49.
Of course, if you jump on this promotion, you may miss out on the new handset launches this Fall.
