Sony (NYSE: SNE) Ericsson (NSDQ: ERIC) has approved its first swath of applications for its new PlayNow Arena app store, which it launched just last month.
Clearly, it’s still early days with most of the 40 applications targeting the UK market coming from Handmark, a mobile application developer. Handmark’s offerings include everything from expense trackers to a thesaurus to the bartender’s bible and match-making services. There’s about eight other applications from other companies, but still it seems like the company is moving fast, having just announced details late last month.
In July, Sony Ericsson laid out the terms of its app store, saying it will share 70 percent of revenues with developers, like Apple (NSDQ: AAPL), but will follow Research In Motion
