GMG Regional’s head of new media Paul Lomax is leaving the company to become chief technology officer (CTO) at Dennis Publishing. Lomax confirmed the move to paidContent:UK today and mentions the switch on Twitter. He joins Dennis in September after saying goodbye to GMG in two weeks.
It’s quite a change for the former IPC Media digital exec — from looking after MEN Media and Surrey & Berkshire media’s online exploits, he’ll play a hand in Felix Dennis’s stable of magazines, online page-turning magazines such as Monkey, “bookazines” and standalone websites like the recently acquired Kontraband.com. But just like like Lomax’s current employer, his next is having trouble with the print side of things and in April shut the UK print edition of men’s mag Maxim, although a web version lives on. Disclosure: paidContent:UK is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guardian News & Media.
