Rumor: Verizon’s First Android Phone Spied

Information is leaking out about an Android phone from Motorola which is rumored to be the first such phone for Verizon. Not much is known about this phone, which is dubbed Sholes. If Verizon does release this phone, it will likely be the first Android phone to work on the EVDO Rev. A 3G network.

The Motorola phone is a landscape slider with a full QWERTY keyboard. There is an interesting touchpad of some sort to the right of the keyboard — perhaps an optical trackpad like the one expected on Nokia’s E72? The Sholes is expected to be released by Verizon in October. If you’re wondering about the significance of the name Sholes, perhaps it refers to the inventor of the QWERTY keyboard.
