Report: Apple Euro VP On ITV Shortlist, HMV CEO Favourite

Pascal Cagni

Reports have linked everyone from former Joost CEO Mike Volpi to Lord Stephen Carter to the up-for-grabs ITV (LSE: ITV) CEO job — and now FT.com, citing sources, says HMV (LSE: HMV) CEO Simon Fox is the leading candidate on a shortlist of four. Also in the running according to the FT’s report are former BSkyB (NYSE: BSY) CEO and BT board member Tony Ball; Apple’s EMEA VP Pascal Cagni (pictured) and current ITV COO John Cresswell. Headhunters Russell Reynolds are conducting the recruitment search.

Neither HMV or ITV are commenting — but ITV’s H109 results are due on August 6 so an announcement could come then. Fox is a keen amateur magician and member of the Magic Circle — and the FT notes that his conjuring skills would come in handy at recession-hit ITV.
