Networks in Motion, producers of the Gokivo navigation software, today announced extended coverage service for BlackBerry devices. The maps now cover Canada and Western Europe, which combined with existing U.S. coverage, now sees Gokivo covering all of North America.
Gokivo is not a household name, but it is the navigation software powering Verizon’s VZ Navigator service. The software has these features:
- Turn-by-turn visual and audible directions make it easier to get where you need to go in the U.S. and Canada or UK and parts of Western Europe.
- Pedestrian navigation with unique pedestrian routes for tourist cities.
- Instant access to local movies, events, traffic and weather conditions.
- Access to nearby restaurants, fuel stations, ATMs, hotels, hospitals, theaters, plus millions of other POIs, with one-touch calling to the destination to place orders, confirm appointments, or get additional information.
- Social planning with friends and family by sharing locations of movies, events, restaurants, bars, and parks.
- Automatic upgrade notifications sent to your mobile phone.
Gokivo currently supports the BlackBerry Bold and Curve and is available with a 30 day free trial. The trial can be downloaded directly on BlackBerry phones from the BlackBerry App World.
