Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) is now accepting applications for the upcoming Windows Marketplace today as expected. To get people excited, Microsoft has launched “a Race to Market Challenge,” which is pretty smart since we still have no idea when the marketplace will be available or how many handsets it will reach. Still, Microsoft’s pretty confident there will be 600 apps initially.
In a blog post, Todd Brix, Microsoft’s Senior Director for Mobile Platform Services Product Management wrote that submissions will be accepted from all 29 supported countries, and will be certified on a first-come basis. Approval should take about 10 days, or you’ll be hearing back from Microsoft on why you didn’t make the cut.
