– Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia: Janet Balis will be EVP of Media Sales and Marketing for MSLO. Balis leaves the company she founded, Digital Media Strategies, to take the position and will report to MSLO Executive Chairman Charles Koppelman.
— Lime Wire: The P2P site has hired Zeeshan Zaidi to be its Head of Global, a new position. Zaidi comes from Nabbr, where he had been CEO and Head of Business Development. Before that, he had worked at major record labels including Sony (NYSE: SNE) BMG and Arista.
— Brand.net: Cindy Panchula has been named VP of Finance for Brand.net, “the online advertising network for brand advertisers.” At Brand.net, she’ll be responsible for all financial activities, from analysis to human resources and legal matters. She previously worked for Goldman Sachs for a decade.
— Ascent Media Group: The media-distribution company has added Douglas Parrish and Drake Pruitt to its Los Angeles team. Parrish will be the company’s EVP of Operations, while Pruitt becomes the SVP of Business Development. Parrish was at Move Networks, and Pruitt comes from Exponential Entertainment in Seattle.
— Gawker: Former LA Times web entertainment editor Richard Rushfield will be Gawker’s West Coast editor. Rushfield had been the Times‘ web entertainment editor since 2005.
— Online Publishers Association: Perianne Grignon is now the SVP of marketing for the trade organization. Previously, she had led the media operation for Sears Holdings.
