UK-based 2ergo, a mobile marketing company, has acquired UK-based Activemedia Technologies Group, which is focused on the mobile ticketing and coupon market, serving the UK, India and Southeast Asia.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, however, 2ergo said Activemedia employs more than 50 people in London, New Delhi and Mumbai. Activemedia lists major phone operators, such as Airtel, Vodafone (NYSE: VOD), Idea, Reliance and Tata, as customers. Activemedia was already using 2ergo’s solution to do mobile campaigns, including a successful one called “Orange Wednesdays” in the UK, Orange used Activemedia technology to support its Orange Wednesdays promotion in the UK, which drives users to the cinemas mid-week by offering them two tickets for the price of one.

2ergo also recently purchased Broca and Wapfly Technologies. All three of the companies have helped 2ergo to expand internationally. With Activemedia, the emphasis is on India, where the mobile phone market is six times as large as the UK market.
