We Choose The Moon: One Small Step for Historical Reenactments

Picture 2This falls under the category of totally awesome. Today, in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the moon landing, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum has partnered with AOL for a real-time reenactment of the Apollo 11 space mission, using video clips, live-streaming audio, photos and various social networks to make the event come alive for us modern space nerds. Yep, the astronauts and Houston all have Twitter accounts, whose tweets match with real transmissions from the mission.

As of writing, Stage 5 (in which the command service module separates) has just commenced. Man walks on the moon in 99 hours. Stay tuned at wechoosethemoon.com.
