First it was matrimonials, now it’s jobs. Soon, premium classifieds could also go on DTH as service providers scramble to provide value added services to gain customers in an intensely competitive market place. India’s DTH market has five private players and a free government-run service.
Leading direct-to-home service provider Dish TV India Ltd today said it will provide job searches as a value added service on its DTH platform through a tie-up with jobs portal Monster.com. The service is titled MonsterJobs Active. Last year, Dish TV tied up with matrimonial portal Shaadi.com to provide ‘Shaadi Active’ searches. Competitor TataSky followed up with a similar service ‘ActiveMatrimony’ through a tie-up with Bharatmatrimony.com.
“This partnership brings together the online and television mediums to provide a much needed service that enables anytime access and empowers job aspirants with thousands of employment opportunities,” Dish TV COO Salil Kapoor said in a statement.
