Best Buy Survey: Too Many Smartphones, Buyers Confused

SmartphonesRetail giant Best Buy surveys its customers frequently, and a recent study of phone consumers shows that they are getting confused with the sheer number of choices. According to results released by Best Buy, a whopping 47 percent of those interested in smartphones are too confused by the number of phones and features. Price has a big effect as always, as 63 percent of the folks surveyed stated they don’t own a smartphone due to the high cost.

The days of business users dominating the smartphone landscape may be over, as work tasks are no longer the primary focus of smartphone owners. Over half of the consumers surveyed use their smartphone for playing music, while many use their phone for social networking and playing games. This consumer focus of leisure activities is why Best Buy believes the iPhone is a hot seller while Windows Mobile phones are less so.
