The Media Trust, a charity set up to improve the voluntary sector’s communications with help from professional media, is soon to launch a £900,000 digital media project to find online projects for charities working with isolated or deprived people, as Third Sector reports (registration required). From July, £250,000 of the money will be given out in 26 grants of up to £14,000 to fund news sites, online film and photography projects — while the rest will go towards a Communities and Local Government department and Department for Universities, Innovation and Skills project to help charities use digital media. The BBC, BSkyB (NYSE: BSY), Channel 4 and DMGT are among the trust’s corporate members.
