Earlier this month, T-Mobile USA’s CTO Cole Brodman told mocoNews that they were on the verge of launching a follow-up device to the T-Mobile G1. The phone, which would operate on Google’s Android operating system, was expected to be out in early summer with details of the release coming later this month.
The impression I got was that the device was not likely to be called a G2, which may open the door to the phone being made by another manufacturer. Most likely, it would come from Motorola (NYSE: MOT) or Samsung, which have also committed to the operating system.
Now, new evidence is emerging that the device will be something called the Samsung Bigfoot, reports Boy Genius. At this point, it’s unclear if this is at all true. The site anonymously received the photo of the device, and were told it was going to launch with T-Mobile this summer — like, really, really soon. The phone has a slide out keyboard on the side, and reportedly has a 3 megapixel camera. It will be a 3G device and come with a large touchscreen display. The one odd part is that picture shows the phone coming in a strange neon green.
