Nokia Launches Dance Fabulous For N-Gage

imageNokia has released a game on the N-Gage, called Dance Fabulous. Developed by Digital Legends, the game picks up on the trend of integrating music into gaming, like Guitar Hero and the Tapulous’s popular iPhone game, Tap Tap Revenge.

In the game, players collect points by creating cool moves and dancing to the music. In addition, they can customize their own avatars, and choose a variety of dance styles and share their moves with friends and other players in the N-Gage Arena, according to the press release. The game introduces an artist, Canadian Cindy Gomez, and has tracks recorded by her for the game as well as motion-capture of her dance moves. People can use any music they have on the handset or download more from Nokia (NYSE: NOK) Music Store.

I haven’t seen the game, but the description ticks all the boxes of what games should include, at least according to current thinking. After the players customize their avatars and dance moves they can then show them off to their friends, bringing in the social aspect that seems to do so well in the mobile space. It links to the Nokia Music Store in the obvious hope that it will drive sales there, not just for the game but maybe point people there who wouldn’t otherwise go. It even has exclusive content — not from a big name artist, but having a new artist do it can be spun as being street-hip. It appears to be on a subscription basis with Nokia offering a free 30-day trial, but no word on the price.
