– DoCoMo (NYSE: DCM) Launches Euro Manga: DoCoMo Netherlands (subsidiary of the eponymous Japanese telco) will launch a mobile service for downloading manga, beginning today in France. Customers of French mobile operator Bouygues Telecom will be able to use the service to download French translations of famous manga into their mobile phones and view them panel by panel using a dedicated reader. Titles include Shueisha, Naruto, Dragonball and Death Note. (release)
— Android On Orange UK: Orange UK is gearing up to launch an Android handset, possibly the HTC Hero, reports ZDNet UK.
— Japanese Mobile Social Network Users: A survey of 800 Japanese found that 55.1 percent were either current or ex-users of mobile social networks, and 72.8 percent of those used a mobile-based social network. Of those who used it 70.4 percent said they mostly accessed the social networks from the mobile phone…which means 28.2 percent of the people surveyed said the mostly accessed social networks from the mobile phone.
