Affiliate marketing network Venturian Media has bought “social shopping” affiliate site Boxedup.com and the new owners say they want the site to be profitable as an independent unit of Venturian by Q409. Financial terms were not disclosed on the all-share acquisition. Boxedup allows online shoppers to share tips and discuss products that they want, like or have — its gets revenue whenever someone goes on to buy a product they bookmarked on the site. Venturian, which launched in 2005 and has offices in the UK, Australia and India, is keen to use the site to get consumers talking about products from its other affiliate partners and properties. Chris Osbourne, who co-founded Boxedup in 2007, will continue to lead the site. Release and TCUK.
