Industry Moves: Virgin Media CFO: Isobar-Aegis Media; BBC Newsroom

imageVirgin Media: Citing family health reasons, Virgin Media’s chief financial officer Jerry Elliot will step down from the company on May 31. The company’s treasurer Rick Martin will step in to handle financial reporting duties on an interim basis. Now begins an “accelerated search” for a new CFO. Release.

Aegis Media: Mark Cranmer has been appointed CEO of London-based digital ad network Isobar, part of Aegis Media. The former Starcom EMEA chief, who has been working as a consultant to Aegis for the last year, takes over from Nigel Morris who will now become CEO of Aegis Media North America. BBC Newsroom: The editor of the BBC TV 6pm and 10pm news programmes Craig Oliver has been made deputy head of the Beeb’s multimedia newsroom. He replaces and will now report to Mary Hockaday who was last month promoted to lead the newsroom in its reporting across TV, radio and online. Oliver will have responsibility for online, on-demand and radio news — and will retain his role as editor of the BBC’s multimedia election coverage which swings into action again on June 4 when Britain goes to the polls in local elections.
