UK affiliate marketing outfit Skimlinks has debuted Good.ly, a Tinyurl and Bit.ly clone that does more than just shorten URLs. Many online retailers like Amazon (NSDQ: AMZN) give commission to those who refer sales via links – when links send traffic to retailers via a Good.ly URL, Good.ly will give 55 percent of that commission to charities. The aim is to generate more revenue for both the charities and Skimlinks through short links that are posted to Twitter, Facebook and other sites. On board so far are Dog’s Trust and homeless charity Crisis. Standard.co.uk says a commercial equivalent is in the works.
