Industry Moves: Our Weekly Update On Who’s Going Where

We are introducing a weekly roundup of industry moves culled from a range of sources–some of which we have covered and some that we haven’t. The focus is on senior executive movement in the industries that we cover–media (digital and traditional) and entertainment. Changes at the top at Real Global Broadcasting–the JV between Turner and Miditech that broadcasts the GEC Real. Programming head Gitanjali Murari moves out and president Sharada Sunder will man the role till a replacement is found.

Miditech hires Manisha Tripathi as president. Tripathi came from Big FM, where she was station director, Delhi.

Star India Veteran Yashpal Khanna leaves to do his own thing. He was a senior vice president at the Rupert Murdoch-owned broadcaster.

Rajiv Jaitly leaves DB Corp., the publisher of Dainik Bhaskar, as president, marketing and ad sales. He says he is shortly joining a telecom company.

HT Media hires Divya Gupta as business head for Hindustan Times in Mumbai. Gupta came from Reliance ADAG, where she was a media advisor in the chairman’s office.

Essel Group has moved R.K. Agarwal, CFO at Zee News Ltd, to the group’s cable company, WWIL, as CFO.

Ajay Vidyasagar, former Star India executive, is reportedly headed south as the CEO of Sun TV. When we contacted Vidyasagar about it, he declined to comment.

  1. In any industry, there are so many senior executives who will transfer from one famous company then suddenly be connected with another big company. It is actually a trend nowadays. Personally, with this trend, companies are becoming more competitive because of their human asset (executives).
