Industry Moves: Absolute Digital Marketer, Game Finance, Hulu International

imageAbsolute Radio: The station formerly known as Virgin Radio has appointed Dan Thornton as its first digital marketing manager. The ex-Bauer Media community marketer will be responsible for the digital station’s social media activities, which the company says is based in 51 different sites. According to this morning’s Rajar figures, the station saw a 31 percent year on year decline in listening in Q190 to an average weekly audience of 1.69 million, despite a 200,000 increase on Q408. Absolute’s iPhone app launched last month has been downloaded more than 100,000 times. From Marketing Week.

Game Group: UK games retailer Game Group said no Thursday its deputy CEO and finance director David Thomas is leaving the company to join homebuilder Barratt Developments and its group finance director. Game’s investor relations director Ben White will replace him as FD after the company’s AGM on July 2. Release.

Hulu: The US TV site is appointing another international exec to help overseas roll-out, following Andy Forsell’s recent appointment as international SVP. The service is looking for an international biz dev director – LA-based, but working on acquiring non-US shows and rolling out the site in other countries. The service has also landed programming from Endemol and Bollywood distributor Saavn to add to its recently-acquired Digital Rights Group content, FT.com says.
