It appears Kirkland, Wash.-based Clearwire is starting to get a global reputation for knowing how to build a WiMax broadband network. Clearwire (NSDQ: CLWR) has entered a memorandum of understanding with Vee Telecom to jointly provide WiMAX services in Taiwan starting at the end of the year. Clearwire will receive a 10 percent or less stake in the company in exchange for providing technology and consulting services, Vee Telecom Spokesman Sean Wu told Dow Jones (NYSE: NWS) Newswires (Via Total Telecom). Vee Telecom is based in central Taiwan in Taichung. In addition, Clearwire separately signed an agreement with Global Mobile, another Taiwanese WiMax operator, to cooperate on roaming, technology and digital content.
