– ITV: There’s a new head of online advertising at ITV: Gary Knight (pictured) makes the switch from his current role of brand partnerships director and will now look after sponsorship, partnerships and mobile ads in addition to the company’s online ad inventory. The move comes after the departure of online revenue head Gary Cole who left as part of ITV’s on-going redundancy scheme. Cole joined from Telegraph Media Group in 2007 to help fulfill the company’s ambitious plans — now abandoned — to make £150 million in online revenue by 2010. From Mediaweek.com.
— IDS: Virgin Media (NSDQ: VMED) has appointed Stuart Flint to the new role of director of digital at its in-house sales department IDS. The former Hearst Digital sales director, who left the company as part of a recent restructure, will be responsible for the online commercial activities across the VMED portfolio including UKTV, Virginmedia.com and Challenge Jackpot. The role is slightly exapsned compared to that of precessor Phil Townend, who left to become commercial director of video ad company InSkin. From Mediaweek.
