Today was an unusual day as I committed to picking up my Mom an hour away and taking her into a clinic for some blood work. Nothing major; she just needed her periodic blood chemistry checked. I knew I would likely need a GPS in the car for the trip so I plopped the BlackBerry Storm in my pocket and hit the road. Good thing I did, too.
I knew I was likely to run into some traffic due to the time of day so the first thing I did in the car was fire up TeleNav on the Storm. It duly plotted a route to Mom’s house and off I went. TeleNav continually monitored the traffic conditions ahead of me and it was evident from the slow pace that I might have to change my route to make sure I picked Mom up on time.
Sure enough TeleNav soon informed me that adverse conditions were afoot and gave me the opportunity to reroute the trip around it. I told it to go right ahead and I jumped off the slow highway at the suggestion of the Storm and was able to skirt the bulk of the traffic. I picked Mom up just in time to get her to the clinic as scheduled and all was well. TeleNav and the Storm saved the day.
I am really impressed with how good a navigation system TeleNav makes the Storm. That big screen is easy to see in the car and the spoken directions are loud and clear. I really should get a mount for this thing to make it easier to use.
