– Ten Alps: Bob Geldof’s multimedia production company Ten Alps is to add another profession-based online video portal to its portfolio: later this year it will launch Accountants TV to accompany its existing Engineering TV, Teachers’ TV and Lawyers’ TV. Plans are in place for Bankers’ TV and Nuclear Energy TV. In February the company raised £3 million in a new share issue to fund this expansion. Also, Ten Alps is closing the print editions of it B2B magazines such as The Pharmacist and turning them into online-only titles. From Telegraph.co.uk.
— Co-operative Group: The Co-op has launched its own video channel as part of its relationship with the Ethical.tv VOD site, which launched last month. The site is part of an expensive brand campaign promoting the wide range of Co-op companies and the causes they support such as fair trade and green energy. Via Retail-Week.com.
— We7-NME: Free music site We7 is lending its technology to NME.com to offer readers an exclusive pre-release listen of the latest Depeche Mode album, Sounds of the Universe. The embedded We7 player shows rotating display ads for the download, CD and lavish boxed set editions of the album, out next week. Spotify is also streaming the album for premium customers only.
