For the past three years, the Guardian has offered Media Talk, a podcast featuring discussion and debate about the latest media news in the UK. Now the news organization (which is also owned by our parent company) is launching Media Talk USA, a monthly version focusing on the U.S. media market. It’s hosted by Guardian columnist Jeff Jarvis, a professor at the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism who blogs at BuzzMachine. For the inaugural podcast, Jeff is joined by Jay Rosen, a fellow blogging journalism professor from New York University, and Elizabeth Holmes, a digital-media reporter for the Wall Street Journal, in a lively discussion about reporters’ roles in covering the White House as President Obama interacts directly with constituents online. Jeff also interviews Arianna Huffington about the Huffington Post‘s new not-for-profit investigative-journalism fund.
ContentNext Media is part of the mix, too: Our Managing Editor Ernie Sander recaps some of the top digital-media stories, both the serious and more whimsical. Click here to listen.
