FriendMobilizer Brings Facebook to Android

mainIs there really still no native Facebook client for Android devices? I don’t have a T-Mobile G1, but some Googling didn’t turn up anything when looking for such an app. There appears to be a web-wrapper type of “application”, but nothing else. Leave it to the third-party folks to come up with a solution: FriendMobilizer appears to be a useful stand-in.

From from the looks of the screenshots and posted info, I see the following features and more:

  • View real-time status updates of your friends.
  • Leave comments, send messages, write on walls (I always got in trouble for doing this as a kid; now it’s considered socially acceptable behavior!), and post photos.
  • View Group and Event invites; something I want but haven’t seen on the Facebook client for iPhone. Perhaps I’ve overlooked it…
  • I like how photo uploads take place in the background, so you can multi-task.

Macrospecs, the development shop, says you can find FriendMobilizer now in the Android Market; they plan to add updates in the future. Based on the listed features, it sounds like they have the vast majority of functionality already there!
