Sprint’s Board Loses Controversial Director Irvine Hockaday

imageOn Monday, Irvine O. Hockaday, Jr. informed Sprint (NYSE: S) Nextel that he will not stand for re-election at the next annual meeting on May 12, according to a document filed with the SEC. The company did not say why he would not stand for re-election, but that it was not the result of any disagreements. Hockaday, who has served on the board since June 1997, isn’t without criticism.
