imageAfter years of waiting for the e-reader market to show some signs of life, Amazon’s Kindle seems to have inspired Barnes & Noble to move in that direction a lot faster. The bookseller has launched a free e-reader for BlackBerry devices, just as the device maker is releasing larger-screen gadgets for easier reading, WSJ reports. From B&N’s end, the launch is being handled by its Fictionwise unit, which it recently bought. And for BlackBerry, it represents Research In Motion’s additional overture into the consumer market. Meanwhile, B&N’s full-blown e-reader store will still take a while, as the company doesn’t expect to open an electronic bookstore until later this year.
