Carphone Warehouse, the UK mobile phone retail chain, will start pushing its customers to install mobile money software on their phones based on a new partnership announced today with mobile banking company Monitise, Reuters reports. Today, mobile banking and payments is seeing modest growth, but by providing integration right in the store, perhaps it will expand more rapidly. No financial details were given about the arrangement, but the companies said Carphone Warehouse will market the service through promotions offered in the store and online. Monitise’s software works with several banks, including HSBC, NatWest and Alliance & Leicester, and alerts users when a payment is made and allows users to move money from account to another. Release.
