R.N. Choubey, principle advisor for broadcasting and cable services at the Telecom Tegulatory Authority of India, or TRAI, which also regulates the broadcasting sector, is now moving as Tamil Nadu’s resident commissioner in New Delhi. A 1981-batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service from the Tamil Nadu cadre, Choubey joined TRAI in August 2006. He has a reputation for being a good listener and a straight talker. March 16 is his last day at work. “Mr Choubey has been an asset to the organization,” TRAI chairman Nripendra Misra said.
With chairman Misra himself set to leave office on 22 March, the authority will be short of two top-notch regulatory brains.
