MSI Netbook Lasts 1.3 Days with Single Charge (On Saturn)

batt-300x225Joking title aside, the MSI Wind U115 battery life does sound impressive if the tests over at Eee-PC.de are valid. They found the 5200mAh battery could power the U115 for a whopping 13.25 hours. Yup, that does work out to 1.3 standard days on Saturn, and you might as well use the U115 there as well to get such results. See, there’s no Internet on Saturn (yet), and there wasn’t any involved in the netbook battery test either. Disabled Wi-Fi probably isn’t the best scenario for a netbook battery test, but I’m still impressed. The display was dimmed to 30 percent, which is about where I use my own mobile devices, so that’s promising.

Those stellar numbers might have something to do with the lower-powered Z53o processor combined with the hybrid hard drive and SSD storage. Regardless of the test scenario and components, I suspect that the U115 could eek out a full eight-hour computing day…. on any planet.
