Mobile Content Bits: Google Image Search; Boost News Content; Viva Vision; Flurry Analytics

Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Image Search Update: Google has updated the image search for Android and iPhone handsets in the US, UK and Japan with features that were launched on Google Image Search in December. The new results let people scan up to 20 images on a single results page and get details for images of particular interest. “From the details page, you can view a larger thumbnail, visit the web page containing the image, or view the image by itself in full size. The new results page also supports “search-by-style” filters, which allow you to restrict your search results to people’s faces, clip art, line drawings, or photo content.” Google Mobile Blog has demonstration images.

Boost Adds News Content: Sprint’s prepaid MVNO Boost Mobile has signed a deal with Local Solutions Network to give customers access to up-to-the-minute local news, weather, sports and so on. LSN’s affiliate media partners include ABC, NBCU, Telemundo, McGraw Hill and Cox Broadcasting. Customers on the $50 Boost Mobile Monthly Unlimited plan will get the service free, while other pay-as-you-go customers can get the service for 35 cents a day for unlimited use.

Viva Vision On IPhone: Viva Vision has launched its first two iPhone applications, a Car and Driver and a Cute ‘n’ Funny Pets slideshow applications. They show images as an automatic slideshow, let people browse through the image galleries and save their favorite images to ues as a wallpaper or share with friends. They go fro 99c.

Mobile App Analytics: Flurry has announced some extensions to its mobile app analytics service. User Path Tracking lets developers track the sequence of actions that consumers complete in their applications from the time of launch, which allows for improved design. Dynamic Parameters gives richer detail to key actions performed by users — for example, if there’s a search box it will tell what the most popular keyword searches are, the number of words used in searches and what kinds of searches are performed at different times of the day. Hi5 Gets Mobile Payments: Social network site Hi5 has signed Paymo to let users buy hi5 coins (the sites virtual currency) with their mobile phones. This is aimed at the people who don’t have a credit card but do have a phone — a significant part of the world’s population. Countries where the service is offered include the U.S., Canada, France, Hong Kong, Thailand, Russia and Colombia.
