Bharti Airtel: New Deputy CEO Sanjay Kapoor To Head Telemedia, DTH

In top-level leadership shuffle at Bharti Airtel, India’s largest telecom company by subscribers, Sanjay Kapoor has been elevated to a newly created position of deputy CEO, overseeing mobile, DTH and Telemedia businesses. Kapoor was president, mobile services. Atul Bindal, who was president, telemedia services, will now be president, mobile services. K. Srinivas has been named president of the telemedia business. Bharti’s triple play efforts are led by the telemedia division. “New business verticals such as M-commerce and M-entertainment etc. are being created to generate new revenue streams,” the company said in a statement.

The statement said that CEO and joint MD, Manoj Kohli, will increasingly focus on strategy development, governance and organisation development.

ET reports that Kohli sold his entire stake in the telecom major in two transactions this month, leading to speculation that he might be leaving the firm.

    Previously, Airtel was providing the best server now i believe they are not providing best service. I suggest you to move for Vodafone only. I have my personal experience. I had raised the request on 26th September still waiting for response from Airtel.

Hi,I am very unhappy with the kind of service I am getting for a being an airtel customer for over 7 years with my other number.As a customer if I don’t get proper response from nodal office I should go to the appellate office, but I as a customer is mistreated at the appellate office who am I suppose to escalate this.I had called the appellate office twice and reached the same person named Shanty Bindal, who on Friday informed me that he cannot help me as his system was under up gradation so I requested him to call me back , which he didn’t do, neither did he transfer me to other officer, instead asked me to call after 4 hrs, so I told him to ask the person named Aman Kapoor to call back as he was the one who had promised me that he will call back and inform me the status of my request no matter what happens, but didn’t call back. So overall I was left with no answer and was just hoping to get a call back. Didn’t happen and its Tuesday today that I called the appellate office again and reached the same person Shanty Bindal who still states that his system was under up gradation and I should call him back after 4 hrs, because he can’t  do anything. He denied even passing me to someone superior to him. Though knowing very well that I have been calling several times now there is no ownership shown to resolve the issue, instead the attitude says that the customer will stop calling in sometime if we don’t do anything to help.If this is what everyone at airtel thinks then I think I need to move to another service provider who could value its customers.Though I have been with airtel for over 7 yrs the kind of service I am getting is not at all appreciated, and I have very disappointed with this. I don’t think I had asked for more as a customer but you guys have seriously been a disgrace.I want someone to reply to this mail and also let me know what am I suppose to do next in order to get an answer.     there is a spam romance website in internet. name of this website is cupid.com. this is 100% spam site. they are providing facility to start account from mobile sms. but when we start to activate account from our airtel mobile by sms, they will catch Rs.99. they will never activate accont. when we contact with them they will tell to try once again.
    they are spammers so they will act like anything for money. they are saving thousands of money everyday from Indian people.

    I am very disappointed
    with airtel Borband services I requested to shift my connection on 7th
    July airtel customer support told me it takes around 20 days in a very
    rude manner so I decide to cancel my connection but on 8th July I got a
    call from retention department and they told me there is some upgrade
    issue so 20 days they require to shift the connection, I agree with them
    and in this period I paid rent for two house because you told me, you
    need 20 days but then after when I contact back on 23 rd to know the
    status they told me again for 22 days which is very very bad thing when I
    told him my actual situation they told me to do it on urgent basis but
    when I contact today they told me there is no progress regarding this
    even my application is not forward yet, that is embersing me a lot
    that’s why I decide to withdraw my connection and now I am planning to
    post this concern with all of my friends in Facebook and linkedin ,
    skypee and any social media I pay around 13000 thousand rs on your wrong
    commitment.

    Hi,

    I am the holder of airtel # 9910104462 and have been using this no. for the past 2 years and more. I am so disappointed with the airtel services.

    Apart from just using the prepaid mobile, m also using airtel internet package of Rs. 98/month. I very well know what are my liabilities and hence make sure that there is not a single penny i should take in credit from banking or from telecom sector.

    But the kind of service i m getting from ur network is so slow and so disgusting that i cant stop myself from writing this mail, because complaining at the ccre @ 121 isnt worth calling.

    The network in my residential area is so much despite of Airtel antenna right at the top of my house’s terrace. This problem is not only at home and not only with me, but network problem continues wherever i go.. and its for my mother’s no. too – 9818636132.

    On the other hand, Rs. 130 has been debited from my account from 24-26th March 2011. I have already complaint against the same and i was assured to get a call back from them by March 30, 2011 but ispite of i getting a call, I myself had to call up @ 121.. and what i get is ‘account has been debited coz of net usage’..I was also assured a call back from senior in this regard, which as expected hasnt turned up yet..

    I want to knw why wud a consumer use Rs. 130 net when he knws that he can use it fot only Rs. 98.00 for whole month.

    I want an urgent action to be taken against my complaint as i have already loged it to comsumer forum. I want company to give me credit of Rs. 500.00 because of fake excuses you have for debiting amount from my account. I have also sent msg for POrt change, now the call is urs.

Sanjay Kapoor, , I have been repeatedly calling up YOUR Airtel CUstomer Care from past two weeks and guess what i have been disconnected umpteen number of times and YOUR Airtel toll# stinks because i get disconnected everytime i tried calling in…I have been promised 10 -25 times that a Tech will come down to my pleace..Guess what i am still waiting. I feel that you People are a Bunch of of Modern Day Beggars. I can say that Beggars are much better than you..atleatst they extends their arms openly for ALMS. I am going to ensure that i spread the word of Disgracefule service from Airtel within my company and use every opporunity to caution Airtel customers of your Companies disgarced customer service. I can already see that the day Airtel is going to bite the Dust because of its Fake promises and stinking service.

  14. AIRTEL DIGITAL TV – THE WORST EVER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMPANY. My story goes like this. I live in Vizag. I recently came back from US. I wanted to avoid my local cable connection as their service doesn’t have all the channels I needed, so I registered for a new connection online with airtel digital tv. Immediately we got a call from a person called Naveen – (9908011790) and he continued to call us for the whole day to pay immediately. He behaved as a local cheap guy craving for money. But I thought airtel is a corporate company and expected a good service. So I bought the connection online paying the amount of 1690 INR expecting to watch the cricket matches which I was missing, this was on Monday, i.e Mar, 07, 2011.
    Then my troubles started. I don’t have any response from anyone. I tried to call this local cheap guy Naveen who was not picking up my call. Atlast in the evening he picked up the call and said it will be done tomorrow. OK, I missed one of the India match. I slept for that day, hoping tomorrow I will get the new connection and can start watching my favourite channels. Next day again no response, I tried to call (local cheap guy) Naveen, but no response. I kept on calling but there is no response. It continued till next 2 days i.e till Wednesday Mar, 09, 2011. In between, I tried to call airtel corporate customer service and they say we have sent the mail, so local dealer has to fix it. Again my dialing to the local cheap guy Naveen went on and no answer. (Oh, I forgot to mention, he picked up once when I called from a new number and when heard my voice he said I am in traffic, I will call you back and hung up). For the 3 days, lots of calls to airtel customer service, local airtel office, the cheap local guy Naveen and many other nos. Atlast on Thursday some guys (Ramana, Abdullah, some other name) showed up at my house and started fixing the antenna. I felt little relieved hoping to see the India-South Africa match atleast. They fixed the antenna on Thursday and said within an hour the account will be activated and we can start watching. Surprisingly he charged me 100 bucks for screws to fix the antenna on my house roof, another 150 rs for the extra cable and service charge to the guys who fixed antenna. Oh God, at last I can start watching tv.
    I spent 1 hr tried to change the channels to see if its activated, but surprisingly not. I called the guys, they say they forgot to send the message to local dealer and said will send it immediately. Then again my waiting started sitting on sofa and changing the channels. But till evening no activation :-x. Lots of frustration, shoutings in my house. My father was completely against this corporate connections, saying if it was local cable operators we can go and ask them immediately they will fix it. But I was the one who insisted for corporate connection saying their service will be better though little more extra charges, but Airtel showed what Indian corporate companies are. Not any better than the government offices. Ok, then coming to my waiting point, still continued. Again my calls continued to local cheap guy Naveen, corporate office, guys who put the antenna (Ramana, Abdullah). But no f***ing use. Still my waiting to watch the tv continued. Finally at the end of day, Ramana says he wants the activation pin no, kit no which local cheap guy Naveen has to provide and this guy is not picking up the call. So my fourth day is always went without watching any matches and other channels. My family members were at their extreme point of anger. All blames goes on me as I trusted these corporate companies. It happened until Friday evening.
    On Saturday, I woke up to my fathers shoutings where the F*** is the tv. I immediately woke up and my calls started to again to corporate office and other people. When I called airtel customer service, one lady picks up the call with thick hindi accent after 10 mins of waiting on call. “Sir, mein aap ki kya sahaytha kar sakthi hu”, I explained her the whole story again she says “maafi chaahte hain sir and blah blah blah” and “can I put you on hold sir” and I said yes, she hung up. I was really frustrated. I called up again to the customer service, after 5 mins of waiting, another lady picks up the call speaking mix of hindi and butler English (that’s fine, I don’t mind about their language all I need is good service). Again explained everything to her, she said she cannot do anything she has to call the local dealer. I said can I speak with her manager, she said kindly be on hold sir and hung up. So I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD THAT, FOR THE AIRTEL CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE, “HOLD ON” MEANS I AM HANGING UP. What a waste company it is. I am at my peak point of anger, the only option I am left with is the local cheap guy Naveen. Again started calling this guy, but no answer. Then I tried to call him from my US phone number, surprise… surprise, he picked up the call and says sorry sir I will do it today. I pleaded him, Naveen garu, please activate the connection I cannot miss the India – South Africa match. He said he will definitely do it today. Still I am crossing my fingers hoping I will be able to watch this match. Its been 6 days. I will update further about my experiences.
    Lots of frustration, money waste, time waste. So I wanted to write this long review/letter so as to update my fellow people about AIRTEL and THEIR SERVICE. Its strongly advised to avoid these corporate connections and stick with local cable guy. I am planning to escalate this issue to corporate office, I will not keep quite and I am planning to file a lawsuit against these guys. Please advise me anyone in this case, how should I go to the court. I am not much aware of the laws here, WILL I GET ANY JUSTICE??? Well, I don’t think so. But I will try.

    TO MR. CEO of Airtel,
    This is the strong review of a common airtel subscriber. Don’t just boast about your coverage and customer service in India, being US resident I thought airtel is the best in India and after coming here I came to know the real scenario, if you are the best then I have to change the meaning of the definition of “BEST”. Don’t just sit in the office, try to look at common customer’s problems. I assume being a CEO, you atleast understand the meaning of customer service.

    OK guys, I am going to post this review in as many sites as possible online to alert my fellow Indians about this corporate company. Please be advised and take a decision based on my experience.

    PLEASE NOTE UR TECHNICIAN MR.SHEKAR (9845267041) IS HIGHLY RUDE AND JUST WALKS IN AND OUT OF OUR HOUSE AS IF IT IS HIS OWN HOUSE. HE CAME IN YESTERDAY WITH A NORMAL SET TOP BOX AND SAID COMPLAINT WAS RAISED FOR THE SAME AND WOULD BE BACK IN HALF AN HOUR WITH THE DVR BOX.

    (JUST FOR INFORMATION .. CUSTOMER CARE REFUSES TO LODGE A COMPLAINT UNLESS U PRESSURIZE THEM TO. THEY KEEP ON MAKING EXCUSES LIKE U WILL NEDD TO PAY Rs.100/- IF WE REGISTER A COMPLAINT, ETC….)

    TODAY MORNING, WITHOUT CALLING HE JUST WALKED INTO THE HOUSE AND GOT THE HD BOX SAYING COMPLAINT WAS RAISED FOR THE HD BOX AND NOT FOR THE DVR … THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS !!! (PL GO THRU TRAILING MAIL FOR CLARIFICATION OF THIS POINT)

    PLEASE TAKE THE CONNECTION BACK AND REFUND MY AMOUNT. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH WITH AIRTEL. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNCALLED FOR …. IT IS NOW MORE THAN 3 WEEKS SINCE THIS DRAMA IS GOING ON AND IT IS SURE WASTE OF MY OFFICE TIME.

    UR ENGINEER SAYS HE CAN ONLY CONME IN BETWEEN 10.30AM AND 05.30PM AS THOSE ARE HIS WORKING HOURS, HENCE I HAVE TO LEAVE OFFICE EVERYTIME AND GO WHEN HE COMES …. .THIS IS HIS THIRD VISIT WITHIN THE LAST 15 DAYS WITHOUT ANY SOLUTION. ANY QUESTION PUT FORWARD TO HIM HAS THE ANSWER “CALL CENTRE PPL DID NOT GIVE ME CORRECT INFORMATION, HENCE IT IS NOT MY FAULT, PLEASE SPEAK TO THE CALL CENTRE.” HE ALSO MENTIONED THAT THERE ARE TOO MANY DVR BOXES AWAITING REPLACEMENT AS IT IS A COMMON COMPLAINT SO HE CANNOT GIVE ANY TIME FRAME AS TO WHEN IT WILL BE REPLACED. PLEASE NOTE IF THE DVR BOXES ARE FAULTY THEN WHY DID THE SAME GET SUPPLIED TO US / CUSTOMERS ??????. (I HAVE RECORDER THE CONVERSATION WITH HIM SO HAVE PROOF THAT HE SAID THIS).

    IS THIS THE SERVICE AIRTEL IS GIVING ?????? WE WENT IN FOR AIRTEL EVEN THOUGH THE COST WAS HIGHER THAN YOUR COMPETITIORS AND THINKING SERVICE AND QUALITY WOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE BUT WE HAVE BEEN LET DOWN BEYOND OUR IMAGINATION .. IS THE HARRASMENT TO THE CUSTOMER WORTH IT OR IS THAT UR INTENSION ????????????????????

    PLEASE LET US KNOW IF WE NEED TO APPROACH THE COMSUMER CARE COURT TO GET IT RECTIFIED OR WILL YOU BE LOOKING INTO THE REFUND OF THE COST / REPLACEMENT ???
