Is it time for a watch that doubles as a phone? Hyundai Mobile UK must think so because they’re launching the MB-910 late next quarter for around £200, SIM-free. The device is already sold in other European nations.
At 58 x 44 x 16 mm, there’s plenty of room for your own SIM, but not much more. Of course, the tri-band MB-910 supports hands-free (not wrist-free) calling over the included Bluetooth headset. The color display offers 132×176 resolution and is touch-capable.
Hyundai Mobile UK tells me that the watch supports an email client, video playback, music player and SMS, but I can’t envision tapping out messages or watching media on it. Some good voice dictation might work for messaging, but I’d rather eat lima beans than watch video on a postage stamp-sized, low-resolution display. I wouldn’t want to tax the 400mAh battery on frivolity either: you only get 3 hours of talk-time or 70 hours of standby with the MB-910.
