Agile Adds Safari 4 Support to 1Password

I admit it. I can’t live without 1Password from Agile Web Solutions on my Mac. This $39.95 software is a stellar password manager and form-filler application that works with Safari 3.0, Firefox 2.0-3.0, Camino 1.5, and the OmniWeb 5.7 browsers. There’s also a support for the Apple iPhone/iPod Touch and Palm devices so your synchronized passwords help to easily login to web sites on your handset.

When the Safari 4.0 beta was introduced, I was hesitant to use it because I didn’t want to lose out on my 1Password support. There was a workaround for this, but Agile now officially supports the Safari 4.0 beta with version 2.9.9 of 1Password. The updated utility is a free download for current 1Password owners, so now I can get back to trying Safari 4.0.

In case you’re wondering about that 2.9.9 version number: yes, version 3.0 of 1Password is right around the corner. Agile says that existing customers will enjoy reduced price for the new 3.0 version, which is already getting an early look by some folks.
