The Archdiocese of St. Louis has been without an archbishop since June of last year and expects to name a new archbishop at some point. The Vatican understands that parishioners are anxious to find out who the replacement archbishop will be, so technology will be used for the first time. A text message will be sent, naming the new leader as soon as the archbishop is appointed in Rome. Those wishing notification via text message should register on the Archdiocese web site and provide a phone number for the notification. This is pretty cool — will this be the first divine SMS?
