I offered a quick roundup of Palm Pre news last week and more info trickled out since then. I’m starting to lean towards the Pre for my next phone, so humor me if I continue to share these tidbits from around the web. Keyword = leaning. Don’t be hating on me, you lovers of all things BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and other mobile OS platforms! ;)
- Will she or won’t she tether? Sprint used to advertise modem tethering on the Pre’s product page, but this week, that verbiage disappeared. I suspect Sprint will sell an add-on tethering plan for around $30 per month. (Engadget)
- Google Maps looks pretty darn good in HTML on the Pre. Just in case you were worried that third-party apps built on web standards would look like a Compuserve page. (PreCommunity)
- Word on the street, Wall Street actually, is that the Pre will be a Sprint exclusive in the U.S. through 2009 at least. Makes me wonder if the launch is actually slated for mid- to late June and this is a 6-month exclusive deal. (CNBC)
- Spend 26 minutes with the Pre now with a high-quality YouTube video. Most every bit of the Pre’s hardware and software features are covered extensively while at Mobile World Congress. (PreCommunity)
- Looking for a list of all known Pre features? Here’s a solid one, along with some items noted that are still up in the air. (PreCentral)
