Industry Moves: YouTube Picks From ITV; Specific Media; MTV-Viacom


imageYouTube: ITV (LSE: ITV) director of viewer marketing Anna Bateson has joined Google-owned YouTube as European marketing director. She joins in May and will be tasked with building the video-sharing site’s commercial opportunities and its brand across the continent. Specific Media: Independent online ad network Specific Media has appointed Ian Dowds as its UK VP, after four years as sales director of Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) subsidiary Turner Broadcasting. His role will be to attract and keep UK agencies to the Specific network and the company says its behavioural targeting technology is one way he plans to do that. The company says it is continuing to hire in the UK and Europe despite the recession. Release.

MTV-Viacom: Mark Jones has been promoted to SVP of Viacom (NYSE: VIA) Brand Solution International based in New York, from his current role at Viacom-owned MTV Networks International. VSBI includes Viacom’s TV, digital and mobile channels and Jones will be responsible for the sales for MTVNI and Viacom’s North American brands. He joined the company in 2006 from Zenith Optimedia.
