Missing Sync for BlackBerry Gains Intelligent Bluetooth Sync

missing-sync-blackberryFans of the Missing Sync for BlackBerry software have reason to cheer: The latest release includes support for wireless data transfer between your handset and Mac over Bluetooth. I’m especially liking the sound of the included Proximity Sync technology. You don’t have to manually initiate a sync with this option turned on. Your data will automatically synchronize between the two devices whenever the software detects that your BlackBerry is near. That’s the way it should be, in my book.

Additional features include iTunes playlist support, video transfer, and archiving of text messages & call histories. Those features are in addition to syncing calendar events, contacts, music, photos, notes and more between a BlackBerry and a Mac. It works with iCal, Address Book and Entourage on either Mac OS X 10.4.11 or 10.5.6.

Mark/Space offers the Missing Sync for BlackBerry via download at $39.95. A CD version is coming soon, and costs $10 more. There’s a $29.95 upgrade option if you purchased an older version prior to Nov. 1, 2008; buyers after that date get a free upgrade. Thanks for the tip, Dave!
