Brian McAndrews, who left Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) in January after joining the company through the acquisition of his company aQuantive, has been appointed to the position of director at Clearwire (NSDQ: CLWR). Clearwire said today in a filing with the SEC that Sprint (NYSE: S), which is a majority shareholder in the wireless broadband company, was the one to nominate McAndrews. On Feb. 5, McAndrews was appointed by the board and started immediately. The former Microsoft SVP is also a director of Fisher Communications. Microsoft acquired aQuantive in August 2007, and was the largest Microsoft acquisition to date. Before aQuantive, McAndrews held executive positions at ABC and General Mills.
