Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) has announced plans to cut 1,250 jobs to save some cash, but the company is still bullish on WiMax: “We do see opportunities over time to offer a broad array of services to a variety of devices over both wired and wireless transmission technologies…As part of this, we plan to roll out an initial offering in conjunction with Clearwire (NSDQ: CLWR) in at least one city later this year” said TWC president and CEO Glenn Britt, reports Cable Digital News. Clearwire has already launched in Portland, and the next likely place is Dallas with New York City, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Grand Rapids also being mentioned.
