Live Cargo, a Greensboro, N.C.-based streaming technology platform provider, has acquired mobile technology firm CMWare in an equity and cash transaction. Numbers for the deal were not revealed. The release describes CMWare as a mobile marketing technology firm, though their main product skyTuneZ, is a hosted place-shifting service that allows consumers to access their content stored on their PCs through their mobile phones. Live Cargo’s CEO, Doug Young, said that the acquisition would allow the merged companies to offer a single product that allowed users to quickly store their content and to access it through any device including mobiles and PCs (release).
